Press Release: Steven Puglisi Architecture Launches Pegasus Architecture LLP

San Luis Obispo, CA June 2, 2022/Steven Puglisi Architecture announced the launch of Pegasus Architecture, LLP in the firm’s downtown San Luis Obispo office. The new venture recognizes the leadership role of Principal Architect Jeff Bague, and adds six new staff members: Cathy Bague, Lori Hoke, Charles Lloyd Mashburn Jr, Carolyn Adams, and Haley Wheeler.  The group adds diverse talent, innovative technical skills and exceptional service to the architectural firm long recognized throughout SLO County for creating timeless landmark commercial, hospitality and residential projects.

Jeff Bague, Architect/Principal, offers a broad forty-year perspective of the architecture industry.  Jeff came into the industry in the days of hand drafting and hand-rendered illustrations. However, he was lucky enough to be on the forefront of digital implementation. He believes environment and technology are both important aspects of the practice of architecture and is always striving to incorporate the latest methods of construction into design.

Over the years he has worked on a range of projects from fine custom homes, production track housing, commercial, retail, restaurants, hotels, churches, and institutional buildings. He has an unending desire to create beauty and emotion with his designs, and to deliver a final product that brings the client’s vision to life.

Jeff is actively involved in the local community serving as a board member for the Arts Council, chair of the Public Arts Committee, and providing occasional critiques and panel discussions for the Architecture department at Cal Poly SLO.

Lori Hoke, Administrative Manager, brings her “one-team, one dream” inspiration and coordination for maintaining a fine-tuned design machine at SPA.  Coming from a Fashion Design/Arts education at Art Institute of CA/San Francisco, and Multimedia/Science education at ITT Tech, Lori honed her customer service and team managerial skills with Gap Inc, Perfumania and Movie Gallery.

Charles Lloyd Mashburn Jr., Professional Master of Architecture, is an imaginative, collaborative, goal-driven architectural designer who brings diverse expertise in project concept, planning, design, estimating and management.  Charles earned his Professional Master of Architecture, and served as assistant professor at the Savannah College of Art and Design’s undergrad architecture design studio.  Prior to joining SPA, Charles was an Architectural Design Associate at Goodwyn Mills Caywood Architectural Firm in Nashville, TN where he managed design teams for medical, educational and hospitality projects.

Carolyn Adams, Architectural Drafter, earned her Bachelor of Architecture at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she was awarded the Dean’s List while working as a Crew Chief at Einstein Bagels and serving the community with SLO May Flower Initiative, Sierra Service Project and Joanna’s Kids “R” It. Her architectural and design experience includes Mark English Architects in San Francisco and San Luis Obispo MSA where she handled REVIT 3D modelling, design, project management, project submittals, client coordination and city correspondence.

Haley Wheeler, Production Coordinator, Drafter, is an Architectural Technology student with tremendous technical and customer service skills.  With a penchant for green building techniques, Haley has mastered REVIT drafting and modelling as well as hand drafting and SketchUp.  Prior to joining SPA, Haley worked as a local roofing professional for We Do Roofing and as a property inspector for True Blue Property Inspections.

“With the significant demand in residential and commercial clients originating from across the country, we continue to provide a high level of service and innovation through these moves,” said Principal Jeff Bague. “Expanding our team reinforces the outstanding work of Sal Aguilar, Chloe Johnson and Kathy Puglisi. Pegasus Architects is ideally positioned to deliver timeless design in a fast-changing world,” added Bague.
